Xbox 360 Preview

Well today some friends and I high tailed it to Wal Mart to pick up some crap. As we passed by the electronic section I absent mindly mentioned hwo cool it would be if they had a 360 kiosk. We decided to check, and they did!

Ok so here's my 2 cents after about 15 minutes of fun. The controller kicks so much ass. Seriously it's the best console controller I've ever used. Even in the awkward position of it down at my waist and me looking straight up at the screen it was comfy. Replacing the black and white buttons with 2 shoulder buttons was a good move. 2 shoulders + 2 triggers = fun.

On to the interface. The blades are great. They look so sexy, and it's so easy to navigate around. I did notice that when i was trying to scroll up with the d pad I accidentally went over a couple times because of the size and shape of it, but the dpad isn't all that important anyway.

And of course, the games. They had playable demos of Call of Duty 2, Kameo, and King Kong (maybe others but those were the only ones i got to). Call of duty 2 looked pretty nice. Probably slightly worse than on all max settings on PC, but it ran butter smooth. Kameo looks fapping amazing. It's art style reminds me a lot of Fable. I didn't have much time to fiddle with the gameplay. Seems like it might be a little tough to pick up the controls, but it looks like it should be worth it. I didn't play the king kong demo unfortunately.

Omg I almost forgot abou the guide button. That big X button on the controller. Well it illuminates what quadrant your in, so since there was only one controller it's assumed to be port one, so the upper left is illuminated. Same with the ring of light on the actual console. PRessing the guide button during a game brought up a little sidebar type thing, while the game kept running. You couldn't do anything in the bar yet because it was just a demo, but I think it will have xbox live features eventually.
